Henry County police are looking for two men accused of stealing a Red Dodge pickup Wednesday afternoon, which resulted in a school lockdown.

A homeowner noticed two men leaving his driveway in his pickup pulling a white box trailer, Henry police spokesman Capt. Joey Smith said.

The owner called police, who pursued the two men into a subdivision near Jasper Drive in Stockbridge. The men got out of the stolen car and started running, Smith said.

Red Oak Elementary was put on a “soft lockdown” as officers searched the area.

The lockdown was lifted after 30 minutes, Henry County schools spokesman John Hardin said.
