A putting green will be installed at Village Park in the Fairview area after the project was approved May 7 by the Henry County Board of Commissioners.

The facility will include a nylon putting green surface about 4,950 square feet in size, with the hole locations to be finalized on site. There are numerous other specifications regarding type of turf and various amenities. The cost of the project is $145,000 and will paid from impact fee funds, with the vendor being Synthetic Turf International.

County officials noted that the facility would be a good resource for introducing young people in the area to gold during summer programs and benefit local school golf programs as well as the adult community.
