The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted recently to approve a master plan for Nash Farm Park. The idea was commissioned and completed nearly a decade ago by a previous administration.

The plan includes walking trails, parking lots, playgrounds, conversion of activity barn into activity building, bike trails, equestrian trails, covered pavilion and garden. The 208-acre Nash Farm property was purchased by the county in 2008 and a master plan was created a year later, but county officials pointed out that it had never been adopted officially.

There are no plans for immediate implementation but county staff is urging the board to create a master plan for all county parks.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
