The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved a pay raise for assistant county manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews, who is currently the top administrative officer since the board terminated county manager Lyndon Bonner’s employment Jan. 3. A new job description for the assistant county manager was also approved at that time with additional duties and a salary range of $113,000-153,000.

At the Jan. 17 meeting the commissioners approved a revised organizational chart that puts the assistant county manager in direct supervision of 11 county departments. After an executive session at the same meeting, the board voted at the end of the meeting to raise Matthews’ pay from $128,544 to $140,000.
