The Henry County Zoning Advisory Board voted at its March 28 meeting to approve a conditional use request for 10 acres of property on the west side of Business Center Drive off Eagle’s Landing Parkway, which is the current Gold’s Gym facility.

County staff said that the business has been operating as a non-conforming gym but the conditional use is necessary because of expansion plans proposed by the owner. A representative of the business owner noted that the business has been in existence at that site for many years, and the proposed expansion is meant to provide more services for its clientele. Plans call for additional parking as well as an outdoor recreational area that will include a pool.

No one else spoke for or against the request, and it was approved unanimously.
