Henry County is collecting donations for its annual Community Cares Christmas Toy Shop.

The drive, which seeks items for children up to age 12, is aimed at providing new, unwrapped toys and books to youngsters who might not have a gift for the holiday season.

Donation ideas for younger children include, board games, crayons and coloring books, stuffed animals, learning toys, play tools, Hot Wheels and puzzles.

For older youngsters, gift suggestions include nail polish and makeup kits, sports jerseys, DVDs rated PG or PG-13, jewelry, arts and crafts kits, scarves and sports items such as skateboards, basketballs and footballs.

Gifts can be dropped off until Dec. 2 at the Henry County Administration Building, 140 Henry Parkway in McDonough, or at Connecting Henry, 66 Veterans Drive in McDonough.
