The Henry County Board of Education announced March 11 its intention to keep Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis in her role beyond her current contract.
The board voted at its regular meeting to amend Davis’ contract according to terms discussed earlier that evening without Davis present. There was no mention in the public meeting of what those amended terms would be, although one board member used the word “extended” and an official confirmed on the district’s Facebook page that the board wishes to extend the length of the contract. In a separate motion, the board authorized its attorneys to begin negotiations with Davis based on the amended terms.
Both votes were unanimous.
