The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its May 19 regular meeting to approve a request for modification of zoning conditions for a 24-acre site on the north side of Jonesboro Road at its intersection with Mt. Carmel Road.

The rezoning approved in early 2018 allows C-3 (highway commercial) only for a hotel with any other uses limited to C-1 and C-2, but the most recent board action will allow development of a self-storage facility on the site, which will sit in front of a large park-and-ride lot.

Nobody spoke at the meeting or expressed opposition to the request, and the vote to approve it with several conditions was unanimous.
