A resolution to apply for funding through the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Transportation Improvement Plan did not pass because the vote among the Henry County Board of Commissioners ended in a 3-3 tie.

The board was in agreement on a number of projects on the list, but the main point of disagreement was whether to include the proposed I-75 interchange near Bethlehem Road in Locust Grove, which some commissioners believe should not be a priority.

County staff officials urged the board to come up with something that can be approved at the Oct. 1 meeting so the funding request can move forward.
