Henry County board deadlocks on transportation resolution

The Henry County Board of Commissioners tied 3-3 so the transportation funding resolution failed to pass.

Sept 30, 2019A resolution to apply for funding through the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Transportation Improvement Plan did not pass because the vote among the Henry County Board of Commissioners ended in a 3-3 tie.
The board was in agreement on a number of projects on the list, but the main point of disagreement was whether to include the proposed I-75 interchange near Bethlehem Road in Locust Grove, which some commissioners believe should not be a priority.
County staff officials urged the board to come up with something that can be approved at the Oct. 1 meeting so the funding request can move forward.
