The Henry County Board of Commissioners extended county manager Jim Walker’s contract for an additional two years at the March 3 regular meeting. Walker, who assumed the post a year ago, will receive a salary of $155,000 for the next 12 months and $165,000 the following year, according to the resolution.

Henry County commissioners have typically renewed the county manager’s contract one year at a time in recent years before this decision. The move was approved 5-1 with Chairman Tommy Smith voting against.
