The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted July 7 on an ordinance establishing new standards for pawn shops in the unincorporated county.

In addition to defining which zoning districts allow such businesses, the ordinance stipulates that one pawn shop will be allowed for every 21,182 residents based on the latest Atlanta Regional Commission statistics. They also must be located at least 1,000 feet from each other.
