The Hapeville City Council will have a public hearing on an ordinance for a budget amendment 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hapeville City Hall, 700 Doug Davis Drive.

The ordinance will reflect, if approved, the changes in revenue and expenses for the past fiscal year. Although the city saw an increase of revenue by $100,00 for real property taxes, there was also a significant decrease in city expenses. The finance, human resource and police departments have a combined expense decrease of $375,000.

The council will also consider hiring attorneys to represent the city’s ethics board regarding complaints filed against the Alderman At Large and the City Manager. The outside counsel is needed because having the Hapeville City Attorney representing the city would be a conflict of interest.
