The city of Hapeville is in the progress of creating and finalizing its budget for its next fiscal year, which runs July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018. The budget is a roadmap that sets the priorities of the city, and as such requires many moving parts and attention to many details, city officials said.

The first step of citizen input in the budget, the Citizen Chalkboard, was held in April. The final opportunity for citizen feedback is at the City Council meeting 6 p.m. June 20 in council chambers, 700 Doug Davis Drive, Hapeville. According to state law, the budget must be finalized and in place by June 30.
