Hapeville Code Enforcement, a division of the police department, has organized a program called Operation Clean Sweep that targets trash in the city. The focus will be to remove trash from the public right of ways, city parks and city facility grounds, by coordinating departments, volunteers and court ordered community service workers on specific days to do the work. The next proposed work day is May 30. The program is expected to enhance the mission of Code Enforcement by eliminating issues that can cause blight and the deterioration of neighborhoods and business districts. Anyone interested in volunteering and learning more about the program, may contact Lieutenant William Hughes at (404) 669-4674.
