Lease rates have been set for a few county-owned hangars at the Henry County Airport in Hampton as a result of a recent appraisal and market study, but the issue could revisited in the not-too-distant future.

The Board of Commissioners voted March 6 to approve a staff proposal regarding hangars 24, 25 and 26 at the airport, with the first latter one designated as a community hangar to be available in case of emergencies and situations where the facility was needed for 24-48 hours. Staff requested a rate of 30 cents per square foot, which added up to $5,040 per month each for hangars 24 and 25 (16,800 square feet apiece).
