Gwinnett weather: Temps, humidity and rain chances on the rise

Four generations of the Earlene Fowler family of Lawrenceville enjoyed a picnic at the Duluth Town Green last fall. The metro Atlanta region is filled with green spaces, parks and hidden nooks that are great places to take in a little sunshine and a meal.

A perfect weekend gives way to wet reality this week in Gwinnett County, but Monday and Tuesday should be mostly dry.

Afternoon, isolated showers are possible Monday, however. Not everyone will get rain, but those who do will see “heavy downpours,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton early Monday.

Humidity will increase with temperatures.

Highs for most of the week are expected at or just under 90. The chance of rain increases later in the week, with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday in Norcross. The chance of rain decreases to 20 percent Friday, but scattered storms are expected over the weekend.
