A Walmart in Lilburn was evacuated after a customer found a “suspicious device” in the men’s bathroom that turned out to be a disassembled automatic flusher, according to Lilburn police.

The store was given the “all clear” from authorities shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Gwinnett County Police Department’s Hazardous Device Unit was deployed to the 4004 Lawrenceville Highway store after a customer reported the flusher to management. The flusher had been disassembled and wires were sticking out of it; managers weren’t sure what it was, and the police were called.

Customers and staff were evacuated “out of caution” while police worked to identify the object, Bardugon said.
