Gwinnett commissioners on Dec. 15 approved renewal of a contract to provide vehicle and equipment maintenance parts with Genuine Parts Co. The $4.3 million contract to provide parts for maintenance and repair of Gwinnett’s approximately 3,000 vehicles and equipment represents a negotiated cost savings of about $58,364.

The contract was awarded to the highest scoring firm based on the following criteria: inventory capabilities at 25 points, accessibility and response time at 25 points, experience providing similar services for 20 points, cost for 10 points, implementation plan for 5 points, and value added at 15 points.
