Update (10/23/2017): The Tilted Kilt on Satellite Boulevard in Suwanee has passed a re-inspection with the score of 92/A.

The restaurant was cited for having dead cockroaches found in a storage area and a low level of chlorine sanitizer in a dishwasher. Both issues were fixed on-site, according to the report.

Original story (10/20/2017): A Tilted Kilt restaurant in Suwanee has failed its second consecutive health inspection, resulting in its permit being suspended until it can pass a new check, records show.

The restaurant earned a 50/U on its Oct. 9 inspection and a 61/U on its follow-up inspection on Thursday. The restaurant will be closed until at least either Friday evening or Saturday morning, when it will be re-inspected, said general manager Blake Herring.

A health inspector found cockroaches in the restaurant during both inspections. Raw eggs were stored above ready-to-eat foods in a cooler, and food that had been delivered the previous night was still on the floor during the most recent inspection, the report says. There was grease built up on equipment and spilled food and debris on floors, according to the report.

“At no point was someone going to get really sick” due to the inspection violations, Herring said.
