A team of Gwinnett County fourth- and fifth-grade students are headed to the Lego League World Championship in Houston after winning the Lego League state championship this week.

The Puckett’s Mill Elementary School Sparrow-bots won perfect scores across the board at the competition at Georgia Gwinnett College on Feb. 4.

The competition challenges students to build robots with Legos and control them through computer programming. The robots had to perform “autonomous missions.”

At the Lego League World Championship, the team will be paired with a group from another country in competition, making it similar to a “Robotics Olympics,” a Gwinnett County release said.
