The Gwinnett Stripers want to get hometown fans excited for baseball season.

The AAA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves will host a preseason party for local baseball lovers on March 3. The event at Coolray Field will have an “open house” style, with guests able to lead themselves on self-guided tours of the stadium. This occasion will allow fans to see new upgrades to the stadium, including the Home Plate Club.

For a $20 donation, fans can take 10 swings on the field for batting practice. The donation benefits the Atlanta Braves foundation, which provides grants to other metro Atlanta non-profit organizations.

Kids will get to spend some quality time with mascot Chopper. There will also be “inflatable games and amusements” and face painting to entertain the little ones.

Fans will also be able to buy tickets to upcoming games and shop in the team store. Those who have already purchased a ticket plan for 2019 or registered for the Little Anglers Kids Club will be able to pick up their packages during the event.

The preseason party lasts from noon to 3 p.m. on March 3. Coolray Field is located at 2500 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville and the Stripers begin their season on April 4.
