Gwinnett Commissioners voted Tuesday to accept an award from the Atlanta Regional Commission to use federal and state funds to provide ongoing seniors services. Funding is anticipated to be $944,668 or 57 percent from federal resources, $604,322 or 37 percent from the state and $100,350 or 6 percent provided by the county for a total of

$1,649,340.

The agreement also authorizes Chairman Charlotte Nash to appoint and designate the director of financial services to approve and execute amendments as necessary subject to review by the county’s legal department.

Senior services in Gwinnett include family caregiver support services, an Alzheimer’s program, in-home housekeeping, meal delivery and respite care, senior centers, transportation and other support services.
