A new principal and two new assistant superintendents have been appointed to posts in Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Grelauris Calcaño has been named the new principal of Lawrenceville Elementary School. Calcaño is being promoted from her current position as assistant principal of Rockbridge Elementary School, a job she’s held since 2012. She’s currently completing a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy at the University of Georgia.

Terry Watlington and Donna Ledford have been named assistant superintendents for elementary schools. Watlington has been a principal at Gwinnett County elementary schools for 11 years, working at Kanoheda Elementary School for five years and Norton Elementary School for six years. Watlington also served as chief of staff for Fulton County Schools for 3 years.

Ledford has been principal of Starling Elementary School since 2009. She was previously principal of Magill Elementary School and Stripling Elementary School and has been an administrator in Gwinnett County elementary schools since 1999.

All appointments are effective July 3.
