This will show you just how big the state's biggest school system really is. Rick Cost, chief financial officer for Gwinnett County Schools, told the school board on Thursday that the school system has just under $100 million in uncommitted reserves or savings. "That barely keeps us afloat cash-flow wise through the summer while we're not collecting property taxes," Cost said. This past year, the system came within $7 million in terms of cash flow, he said. "I wouldn't want to cut it any closer."
