Gwinnett police offering clergy citizen’s police academy
The Gwinnett County Police Department will hold its first-ever Clergy Citizen’s Police Academy noon to 5 p.m. each Monday, Aug. 17 through Sept. 21, excluding Sept. 7 for Labor Day, at the GCPD Training Center or GCPD Headquarters in Lawrenceville.
The mission of the Gwinnett County Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy is to create and develop a growing nucleus of responsible, well-informed citizens and clergy members who want to learn more about their police department. Members of the CPA will learn about GCPD organizational structure, criminal investigations, narcotics/SIS operations, 911 Center, crime scene investigations, emergency management, use of force, internal affairs, K9, gang investigations, DUI Unit, traffic enforcement, accident investigations, and SWAT operations.
