The Gwinnett County Police Department has scheduled a job fair Saturday.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Police Training Center, 854 Winder Highway (U.S. 29), Lawrenceville. Applicants must apply online before attending the job fair.
Police officer trainees in Gwinnett earn a starting salary of $35,023, according the department's website. There are 23 vacant positions.
The Atlanta Police Department held a job fair Monday. Police Chief George Turner went before the City Council last year to request more funding to get the police force to 2,000 officers from about 1,800 currently.
