Gwinnett commissioners approved a request Tuesday by the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District to expand the district boundaries by seven parcels. The properties include several along Satellite Boulevard, including Hendrick Automotive Group and Banyan Street Capital. In addition, the CID has obtained approval from two parcels owned by Wells Fargo at the corner of Shackleford Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard east of Interstate 85.

The expansion adds $18.8 million in taxable value to the Gwinnett Place CID. It is the third expansion since its founding in 2005.

The Gwinnett Place CID was actively involved in the Pleasant Hill Road/Interstate 85 diverging diamond bridge project and is working to further improve traffic congestion in the area. Current projects include sidewalk and streetscaping improvements with new lighting, benches and landscaping. Information: www.gwinnettplacecid.com.
