Gwinnett Parks and Recreation have created fun activities to help celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month. During July, the “We Are Parks And Recreation” theme encourages all ages and abilities to enjoy and share their appreciation for any of Gwinnett’s 50 parks and amenities.

Residents can join the Selfie Safari by posting selfies of things to see and do in the parks, and the Trail Trek, a fitness challenge to walk 20 miles of park trails. Download scorecards and get instructions on how to complete the activities and post the photos: www.gwinnettparks.com. Share selfies and stories with the hashtag #weareparksandrec on Instagram or Facebook @gwinnettparksandrec.

“Our award-winning parks offer something for everyone,” said Department of Community Services Deputy Director Mark Patterson. “Whether you want to enjoy a picturesque picnic, hike a scenic nature trail, try your luck fishing, play disc golf or rent a pavilion for your family reunion, we have it all and more.”

Gwinnett encourages all park visitors to follow CDC guidelines on protecting yourself and others from COVID-19.
