A Gwinnett County man was sentenced to eight years, four months in federal prison for downloading thousands of images of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday.

Samuel London, 30, of Sugar Hill, pleaded guilty in April, Acting U.S. Attorney John Horn said in an emailed statement. London’s computer contained thousands of pornographic images, including pictures of infants and toddlers being sexually abused.

“It is beyond belief that anyone could enjoy watching the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers,” Horn said. “This defendant’s conduct fueled the production and trade of this disgusting material.”

In August 2013, Maryland police seized a website used to advertise and distribute child pornography and to discuss the sexual abuse of children, according to prosecutors. That investigation led to a man in Michigan, who admitted to FBI agents that he had sexually abused his 3-year-old daughter while using Skype so that a couple in Georgia could watch the abuse.

That Georgia couple was London and Heather Dalton, Horn’s office said. The couple’s home was searched in January 2014 and investigators found the pornographic images.

Following his prison sentence, London will spend 10 years on supervised release, Horn said. Dalton was charged with child molestation and is being prosecuted through the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office. She was being held Friday without bond in the Gwinnett jail.
