Fire investigators say arson was to blame for the destruction of two tractor trailers in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Fire investigators are searching for someone who they believe set two tractor-trailers ablaze in Lawrenceville, destroying them.

Firefighters responded to a business on Newpoint Place Parkway just before 3 a.m. on Nov. 25 after multiple people called 911. One caller said they saw smoke after hearing an explosion, according to a department press release. That caller also saw a vehicle “driving off quickly,” but couldn’t describe the vehicle because trees blocked their view.

Two tractor trailers behind Levantina, a stone product showroom, were found on fire. They were found to be destroyed by the blaze, the fire department said.

After reviewing surveillance footage, fire investigators believe someone driving a red Dodge pick-up truck with a silver hood and a missing driver’s side headlight set the fire. There is no physical description of the suspect at this time.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Gwinnett Fire investigations at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Those who provide Georgia Arson Control with tips leading to an arrest and conviction may be rewarded with up to $10,000.
