Gwinnett County Health and Human Services is hosting Engage in Aging, a free event to explore resources and effective aging options 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center, 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee.

Attendees can participate in speaker and breakout sessions to provide insight and best practices for those who are planning to age in place, those who may need transitional support or those who are considering alternative housing.

“Engage in Aging provides attendees a perfect opportunity to learn about latest technologies and best practices from regional experts. With these kinds of forums, we hope to better equip our very diverse senior population,” said Health and Human Services Division Director Regina Miller.

Hourly breakout sessions will offer hands-on demonstrations covering topics like healthy eating, assistive technology and fall prevention, nutrition and cooking demonstrations, transportation considerations and active mobility and balance.

Light refreshments and lunch will be available. Registration is required using code GPP4199 at www.GwinnettHumanServices.com.
