Gwinnett’s Voter Registrations and Elections Division is holding poll official hiring events with an urgent need for bilingual poll workers, particularly Spanish speakers. Applicants may apply from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at OneStop Norcross, 5030 Georgia Belle Court in Norcross, and 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 24 at OneStop Centerville, 3025 Bethany Church Road in Snellville.

“We have 156 polling locations in Gwinnett County for Election Day and eight advance voting locations that we need to staff, and to comply with federal law, we need bilingual polling officials,” said Lynn Ledford, Gwinnett County elections supervisor. “It’s a great opportunity for citizens to participate in the elections process. Plus they can gain valuable work experience and earn $75 to $300 per day.”

Applicants must be at least 16 years old, a U.S. citizen and be able to read, write and speak English. They also must be a Gwinnett resident or a Gwinnett government employee, and they must have access to a computer for required online training.
