UPDATE: A Snellville Denny's passed its follow-up health inspection with a 77/C after failing a March 20 check.

Food slicers marked as clean still had food debris on them and had to be washed and sanitized before they were cleared for use, according to the follow-up report. Some foods that require refrigeration were held at temperatures that were too high, a repeat violation, according to the report.

Original story: A Gwinnett County Denny's didn't hit a grand slam on its latest health inspection. It struck out, earning a failing grade of 63/U.

The diner chain’s Scenic Highway location in Snellville was cited for cross-contamination violations. Employees were seen handling raw hamburger meat, bread and hash browns without changing gloves.

Other employees and the designated person in charge failed to identify certain diseases and symptoms that should keep people from working with food, the report said.

This Denny’s location earned a 91/A on its inspection in June and a 92/A in October. Restaurants are typically re-evaluated within 10 days of a failed inspection.

A Denny’s spokesperson didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
