Gwinnett Commissioners on Tuesday approved adjustments to the county’s tax digest by a little over $5 million. The decreases are the result of errors or changes found in the value of about 234 properties from 2008 through 2015.

Changes in property value result from missing deeds, business closings and inaccurate information reported to the county. Adjustments are made when discrepancies are brought to the attention of the tax assessor’s office.

Gwinnett will owe about $504,098 to affected property owners as the result of these changes. Adjustments to the tax digest are made on a regular basis.
