Gwinnett County traffic is bad. Real bad. You already know this.

But guess what? We've got some data to quantify your horror — and more precisely pinpoint the source of your gridlock chagrin.

Find below a list of the 10 most consistently awful traffic hotspots in Gwinnett, courtesy of the Atlanta Regional Commission, which charted the average duration, average length and frequency of bottlenecks at key locations around the county. A bottleneck is defined like this:

By multiplying the duration, length and frequency together, the ARC then came up with an "impact factor" and ranked the roadways that way. Because people like rankings. Even ones reflecting the relativity of their misery.

So read 'em and weep, Gwinnett, and keep two things in mind: "Duration" refers to how long a bottleneck was classified a bottleneck, not how long it took drivers to pass through, and some of the bottlenecks technically begin just outside of Gwinnett. Rest assured, though, that their impact extends well into the county.
