Gwinnett County and the city of Norcross are partnering up to build a new Gwinnett County Public Library branch at the intersection of Buford Highway and Britt Avenue.

The new Norcross library branch will be built on 1.5 acres of land that Norcross plans to deed to the county, according to a county release. The 22,000-square-foot building will be twice the size of the existing Norcross library branch. It will also feature a 128-space underground parking deck and a pedestrian plaza.

The project will also add a traffic circle on Britt Avenue, streetscape improvements and stormwater detention. The old Norcross library branch site will be deeded to the city of Norcross.

No start date has been announced for the project’s construction.
