Gwinnett County police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who wore rosary beads and a Patriots hat during the alleged crime.

The suspect walked into a Metro PCS store on Lawrenceville Highway in unincorporated Tucker at 2 p.m. Monday. He told the clerk he had to pay the balance on his account before walking up to the counter and pointing a gun at the employee, police said.

The man demanded money from the register and told the employee he would shoot if the employee “did anything crazy.” The clerk handed over the cash and the suspect threw the store’s phone on the ground.

The suspect exited the store heading toward Jimmy Carter Boulevard. He was described as a 5-foot-7-inch man with facial hair and wearing a white shirt, dark colored jogging pants, rosary beads and a New England Patriots cap during the robbery.

Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to contact Gwinnett detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
