A knife-wielding robber is accused of robbing a man outside a QuikTrip in Lawrenceville early Tuesday after failing to rob the store.
Gwinnett County police said Friday they are looking for the man, who they say held his pocket knife blade to the throat of a man parking at the 1055 Old Peachtree Road gas station.
This all started about 5:15 a.m. when the suspect walked into the store. He went up the counter and said “give me the money,” according to a police report. The employee gave him no money, but did press the panic button under the counter.

The would-be robber walked out of the store and stopped a man trying to back a Jeep into a parking spot. The driver told the cops that he rolled down his window to see what the man wanted and that’s when the suspect threatened him with the knife.
The driver gave the robber a money clip with between $400 and $500, according to the report.
The robber walked off toward Dean Road.
