Gwinnett Commissioners recently approved a rezoning request to allow for construction of a 195-foot monopole telecommunication tower with a 4-foot lightning rod at 2125 Mall Boulevard near Gwinnett Place Mall in Duluth.

The tower will sit approximately 491 feet from the public right-of-way of Mall Boulevard and 37.7 feet from the public right-of-way of Market Street, 45.6 feet from the northern property line which borders the Gwinnett Point Retail Center, and 48.2 feet from the eastern property line which borders the Gwinnett Place Commercial Center. The proposed tower location does not border any residential property.

Tower approval allows for a minimum of 4 service carriers, and existing vegetation around the site must be enhanced to provide screening of the tower base and equipment.
