Gwinnett commissioners agreed to a contract totaling $117,250 to subsidize the Gwinnett Sexual Assault Center, 3227 Main Street in Duluth.

Funds will help provide specialized medical-forensic response/exams for any person suspected of sexual or physical abuse or assault. The GSAC also provides for 24/7 accessibility, on-going case, records and evidence management and coordination to maintain DNA evidence permanently. The program also provides in person advocacy services, follow-up services and referrals to licensed counselors and legal advocacy.

Victims receive assistance in completing Georgia Crime Victims Compensation applications as well as follow-up medical or mental health care.
