Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement is celebrating Adopt a Senior Dog Month during Nov. with free adoptions for dogs and cats 7 years old or older. Adoption fees for senior dogs are usually $20.

“Senior dogs can be more social, calm and easier to integrate into the family,” said Director Alan Davis. “They’re already trained, aren’t going through a chewing phase and love unconditionally. They don’t ask for much; just a warm place to sleep, good meals and plenty of love.”

All pet adoptions are free on Fridays.

In addition, Gwinnett Animal Welfare invites residents to visit the Gwinnett Animal Shelter on Saturday, Nov. 24 to participate in name your price adoptions during the Adopt ’til You Drop event. Adopt a shelter pet of any age at a fee of your choice. Adoption fees are regularly $45 for dogs and $30 for cats.

All pets adopted at Gwinnett Animal Welfare, 844 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville, are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped before they go to their new home.
