A Gwinnett development was presented with an award at the annual Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit Thursday.

The summit, presented by Georgia Power, brings together "more than 200 developers, commercial real estate brokers, elected officials, business leaders and community development experts," according to a news release.

Parsons Alley, a restaurant and retail district surrounding Duluth's Village Green, won the 2016 Neighborhood Redevelopment Award.

Partnership Gwinnett and The Council for Quality Growth also announced the following 2016 awards at the Studio Movie Grill in Duluth:

· Community Redevelopment Award – City Springs, Sandy Springs

· Regional Redevelopment Award – Suburban Plaza, DeKalb County

· Redevelopment Champion of the Year – co-winners Denise Starling, executive director at Livable Buckhead, and Jim Durrett, executive director at the Buckhead Community Improvement District

Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash said the summit is an opportunity to discuss current industry trends in metro Atlanta.

“Redevelopment plays a major role in the vitality and prosperity of our region,” Nash said.
