Nov 10, 2011More Georgia State University robberies were reported this week making five in the last two weeks, according to campus police reports.
The latest was reported Wednesday afternoon outside the Aderhold Learning Center, according to a campus-wide alert campus police sent out Wednesday around 4 p.m.
"A GSU student reported after exiting Aderhold Learning Center and walking east on Auburn Avenue an unidentified male came from behind him and snatched his Apple I Pad from his hand," the alert said.
The alert described the suspect as a black male about 5 feet, six inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds wearing a black hooded pullover and blue jeans.
Another was reported by a student walking Monday afternoon near Piedmont Ave. and Auditorium Place.
"Two unknown individuals came up behind her and snatched her cellular phone out of her hand," said the campus alert sent out around 2:45 p.m., Monday.
In this incident, however, one of the two suspects -- described as black males about 5 feet, seven inches tall, weighing about 168 pounds -- was wearing a blue shirt with a GSU logo, the alert says.
No one was injured in either incident.
These mark the fifth and sixth recorded attacks in the last month.
Last week, three students were robbed. One had the cash stolen from his wallet after he was pushed to the ground in broad daylight on Nov. 3.
Another student, on Oct. 31, reported having her cell phone snatched from her hand. The third student said a trio of bandits choked him, slammed him to the ground and kicked him on the night of Oct. 30, before taking his backpack in the Lanier parking deck at John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and Jesse Hill Jr. Drive.
Other cell phone robberies were reported on Oct. 12 at Decatur Street and Kimball Way and on Oct. 14 on Luckie Street.
