The students at ABC Montessori in McDonough got a special visit on National Tooth Fairy Day, Feb. 28, from the staff of Great Expression Dental Centers. The dental group donated 100 backpacks filled with school and dental supplies for the students.

“We continuously seek out opportunities to support organizations, especially schools, in the communities we serve. We wanted to support a school in one of our office’s communities, and ABC Montessori has been providing a high quality education to young learners in the area for many years. We thought this was a simple way of thanking them for their commitment to the local community and a way for GEDC to give back to the community that supports us,” said Dr. Kevin Dancy, a clinical partner at Great Expressions Dental Centers.

As a part of its mission statement, GEDC supports the education of children in the communities it serves and encourages other businesses to join in providing the schools and children of Atlanta with the resources they need to succeed.

GEDC provides everything from free dental care through Missions of Mercy to making hundreds of thousands of meals for the hungry in the community through Feeding Children Everywhere. They also the Dental Deputies program - a community-based initiative to collect dental hygiene items to donate to victims in metro Atlanta shelters during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“It is the mission of ABC Montessori to guide every child to discover their full, unique potential and to flourish intellectually, artistically, physically and culturally,” said Kimberly Morey, director and owner of ABC Montessori. “This experience and donation was important because it provided an exciting experience for our children. It also helped them and their families with oral hygiene awareness and information.”
