A group of Cobb EMC customers requested Friday for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to rehear its denial of an investigation of Cobb EMC.

Earlier this month the FERC denied a request by EMC some customers to investigate the co-op for violating the Federal Power Act. The EMC failed to make required FERC disclosures and that relationships with the separate for-profit Cobb Energy company violated federal rules, according to the customers.

The FERC erred in its decision by classifying Cobb Energy as a co-operative that was beneficial to its members, instead of a privately held affiliate benefiting some EMC executives, according to Friday’s rehearing request.
