To provide added safety, the Camp Creek Greenway Trail has a new emergency call box donated by the Right to Hike Foundation. Lilburn Police Chief Bruce Hedley requested the donated box from the foundation, which was formed following the death of Meredith Hope Emerson.

The call box has a lifetime warranty and air card that only dials 9-1-1.

The clearly marked emergency station runs off solar power at no cost to the city. The box has been installed along the greenway at the Velva Court loop.

Other safety measures on the greenway include security cameras and city police patrols.

A coalition of farmworkers, including one based in Georgia, filed suit last month in federal court arguing that cuts to H-2A wages will trigger a cut in the pay and standard of living of U.S. agricultural workers.
