Grease and debris clogged a sewer main Monday night on Emory Drive near Decatur, creating a small spill.

About 766 gallons of raw sewage escaped from the manhole cover and into Peavine Creek before DeKalb County crews were able to clear the blockage.

The county plans a $1.35 billion overhaul of its water/sewer system to meet a federal consent decree to prevent such spills in the future.
