Following a public hearing Oct. 16, the Grayson City Council voted to deny a request by FSA Development to build an automated car wash and retail/restaurant at 1912 Grayson Highway, currently the location of an abandoned house. The project on four acres across the street from a Kroger shopping center and several fast-food restaurants hoped to attract another franchise fast-food restaurant or coffee shop to the location.

Residents attending the council meeting expressed concern about potential noise from the car wash and increased traffic in an already congested area.
