The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted June 19 to accept a $162,111 grant from the state’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council on behalf of the county’s Resource Court.

A required match of $18,012 will be covered by Drug Abuse Treatment and Education (DATE) funds. The Resource Court is intended to reduce jail time and improve treatment outcomes for participants with severe psychiatric and addiction disorders. The funds will be used for salaries and benefits, travel related to training and other transportation costs.
