Waste Industries has discontinued its glass recycling service in Fayetteville and will soon end service in Peachtree City. The company issued a notice on June 16 saying that its third-party processors will no longer accept glass due to decreased value of the material and other processing issues.

Waste Industries Residential Manager David Hunt said that curbside glass recycling in Peachtree City will stop within a month.

Fayette County’s transfer station, operated by Waste Management, does not accept glass for recycling, but Integrated Waste Solutions still picks up glass at the Public Works recycling center on McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City.
